Unlike calculators built on synthetic scores alone, ours is anchored on real FPS measurements we recorded on the gaming PCs in our own catalog, and it also checks your parts against the game's official minimum, recommended and ultra requirements.

How It Works

Choose your processor, graphics card, RAM and a game, then pick your resolution. The calculator finds the measured benchmark rig whose GPU is closest to yours, scales its real frame rate by the performance gap between the two cards, and caps the result if your CPU would bottleneck the pairing. You get an estimated FPS with a plain-language verdict, a system-requirements check, and in-stock pre-builts with measured FPS in that same game.

Methodology & Data Sources

Every estimate starts from a real measurement: we record in-game FPS at 1080p, 1440p and 4K on the pre-built PCs in our catalog. For your hardware, we take the measured rig whose GPU score is closest to your card's, multiply its FPS by the ratio of the two GPUs' normalized 0-100 gaming scores (curated from public benchmark data), then apply our bottleneck formula — if your CPU is the limiting component, the estimate is reduced by the bottleneck percentage. The requirements check compares your parts' scores against the game's official minimum, recommended and ultra hardware. Results are estimates by design, so we publish the exact formula instead of hiding it.

How many FPS is good for gaming?

30 FPS is the floor for playable single-player gaming, 60 FPS is the smooth standard most players target, and 120+ FPS is where competitive shooters and high-refresh monitors shine. The calculator grades your estimate on exactly these bands.

How accurate is an FPS calculator?

No calculator can promise your exact frame rate — settings, drivers, background apps and even the scene you're in all move the number. Ours is anchored on real measured FPS from physical machines rather than pure synthetic scores, which keeps estimates grounded, but you should still treat the result as a strong guideline rather than a guarantee.

Why is my estimated FPS lower than my GPU should manage?

Usually because of a CPU bottleneck. If your processor can't prepare frames as fast as your graphics card renders them, the GPU waits and your real-world FPS drops below its potential. The calculator applies this cap automatically and tells you when your CPU is the limiting component.

Does RAM affect FPS?

RAM below a game's minimum causes stutters, long loading and in extreme cases crashes — but adding RAM beyond what the game needs won't raise average FPS. The calculator warns you when your RAM is under the selected game's minimum requirement.

What do minimum, recommended and ultra requirements mean?

Minimum is the weakest hardware the developer supports, usually targeting 30 FPS at 1080p on low settings. Recommended targets a smooth 60 FPS experience at medium-to-high settings. Ultra is the hardware needed for maximum settings, high resolutions or high refresh rates. The calculator shows the highest tier your build clears.
